About Yonghyun Kim
Baritone Yonghyun Kim is a South Korean operatic baritone and a doctoral candidate (ABD) at the University of North Texas. His recent and upcoming roles include Aleko (Aleko), Marcello (La Bohème), Melisso (Alcina), and Escamillo (Carmen).
He holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and Seoul National University, and has trained at the Accademia AMO of Teatro Coccia di Novara in Italy. Kim is a first-prize winner of the Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition and the AIMS Vocal Competition, and a recent 2nd Prize recipient of the Carolyn Bailey & Dominick Argento Vocal Competition (NOA).
